Brian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & Prints(Old Books, 19th Century Books, Leather Books, Miniature Books, Christianity, Religion).
The Faithful Promiser.
Published 1853, Edinburgh by Thomas Nelson and Sons, and Paton and Ritchie.
127 [128] pages. Text in English.
Period miniature leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands & title lettering, original functioning metal clasp with brass edges to covers.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition.
Binding gently age worn, leather rubbed but still supple, joints slightly worn and scuffed, remains overall attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently toned, book lacks front endpaper and blanks so opens to title page, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this charming and quite scarce little antique miniature book survives.
