Deutscher Edelmann Anfang des XVI Jahrhunderts
(German nobleman or printer of the 1600s, with documents with wax seals relating to fine printing, print arts. Man is reading a folded letter, sword at his side.)
Very attractive 19th Century ethnic costume print. Image has an outstanding background.
Issued c.1870-80, Leipzig, Germany
Charming and quite uncommon/ scarce antique wood engraved costume dress print with original hand color.
In Good+ to near VG [or better] condition: Light signs of offsetting, age spotting and light surface soiling (mostly in blank margins), overall the image remains clean and very attractive. Any minor age flaws or defects may hopefully be clearly seen in the images.
The printed area remains visually pleasing, a nice impression of an interesting and scarce historical image.
A charming 19th century ethnic print any collector, dealer, or institution would be happy to possess. Perfect for display or resale purposes.
Sheet measures c. 9 1/2 " x 7 " .
