227 pages. Text in German. Illustrated throughout with 11 portrait plates protected by original tissue guards. Abundant period advertising at rear, often pictorial, extensive detailed address book of citizens with their addresses.
Rare 19th century book on emigrants from Northern Germany to America, an organization which still exists today.
Publisher's cloth binding, gilt title lettering, gilt pictorial cover decoration, blind embossed cover designs.
Book is almost 130 years old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition.
Binding exceptionally bright and clean, remains overall attractive as an object.
Text block paper is uniformly lightly age toned, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
