Period full leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands, gilt title lettering on contrasting black leather label.
Book is physically old and shows some clear heavy signs of handling and time. With early owner Joseph Thurlo's signature 1808, which seems to clearly indicate the book was available for purchase prior to the title page imprint date.
POOR physical condition. Leather is dried and scuffed, covers detached, spine split down center and repaired in the past, map with splits along fold lines, some pages detached/ loose, etc. Offered W.A.F. due to scarcity and desirability. Scarce book in any condition with the map.
Text block paper is age toned with scattered stains.
Book displays a unique age patina but is in poor antiquarian condition.

We often over-describe any flaws that many sellers would not even bother to mention since most people would overlook them as minor and unworthy of comment. Many people tell us the books they receive from us are nicer in person than it appears on the screen. We want you to be clear about what you are buying, so we take clear photos and try to describe it clearly.
