Hoopuloa Quadrangle
(Hawaii, Alika Lava Flows, Kau District, Pohue Bay, Na Puu a Pele, Kapua Manuka Forest Reserve, Arched Rock)
Issued 1928, Washington D.C., by the U.S. Government
An attractive vintage color lithographed topographical survey map.
Printed in the 20th century, on paper which has gently age toned as always, but which remains sound, mostly clean & well preserved.
A detailed map worthy of display which is not often seen and no longer printed by the Government.
A very uncommon/ scarce chart of the Hawaiian islands.
In Fair to Good and very acceptable or better condition;
short minor edge splits, minor wrinkling, normal uniform minor age toning to sheet as typical, visible (but non-visually offensive) creases across & down the sheet from having once been folded up into near pocket size, couple creases now slightly age browned or with some minor splitting, an institutional rubber stamp mark in the blank side margin, short closed tear at bottom edge, and trivial scattered staining, spotting or foxing.
With an early supplemental descriptive label giving details about the map carefully affixed at left side as seen.
A picture is worth a thousand words. The zoomable image is a major part of the item description. Please examine closely, as what you see is what we will send you. [note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws ]. Text on verso as issued.
A fascinating and stunningly detailed vintage map which any collector, dealer, institution or person of artistic taste would be happy to own and display.
Sheet measures c. 20" H x 16 1/2" W.
Printed area measures c. 17 3/8" H x 13 3/4" W
