Memoirs and Select Papers of Horace B. Morse A.B. of Haverhill, N.H., Who was Drowned Near Portsmouth Harbor, June 22nd 1825, by Charles Burroughs.
Published 1829, Portsmouth, New Hampshire by Miller & Brewster.
203 pages. Text in English.
Scarce early 19th century American imprint.
Antiquarian 1/2 leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands, gilt title lettering, marbled covers.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time.
Binding well age worn but still appealing, leather and joints dried, scuffed, rubbed and chipped, remains overall attractive as a physical object of this era. Covers are loosened, rear joint cracked, etc.
Text block paper is well spotted and age toned as typical, internally book is slightly shaken but remains mostly sound. A book which has been taken care of but does not look like a new book. This is an antique old book which has been handled over the past many decades.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for our detailed attempt to present this book as it actually survives. There is no attempt to hide anything but it's virtually impossible to list every single last tiny flaw or minor (normal) age defect which may exist
We often over-describe relatively normal or minor flaws that many sellers would not even bother to mention since most people would overlook them as unworthy of comment. Many people tell us the books they receive from us are nicer in person than they appears on the screen. We want you to be clear about what you are buying, so we take numerous photos and try to describe it openly and honestly. We accept returns, so we're on your side in any transaction. Thank you for being reasonable, if you have any doubts about condition or have very high expectations/ needs for super-fine, we advise you to not purchase the item so as to avoid disappointment.
