Lovely recent 1/4 leather binding, raised bands, compartments gilt decorated, title gilt lettered on contrasting brown leather band, beautiful marbled covers.
Beautiful and expertly rebound edition of a 19th century short biography of William Villettes, a British army officer stationed throughout the Empire.
Binding is clean, tight, and sound. Interior shows a uniform gentle age patina, shows some minor spotting and foxing. Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive.
