Published 1941-3, New York by the American Historical Company, Inc.
2 volumes. 629, 684 pages. Text in English. Profusely illustrated throughout with endless full page portraits of many of the individuals, often printed in rotogravure.
Period 1/2 leather bindings, smooth spine, gilt & embossed bands, git title lettering.
Set is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Set is not new or in "new" condition.
Bindings gently age worn, yet still overall clean, tight, sound, very attractive as a WW II era set.
Text block paper is clean, internally well preserved, little staining or soiling, any flaws of a minor type unworthy of specific mention.
Still attractive on the shelf. Set displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this mid-20th century set survives.
