The Revolution in Naples

(Garibaldi at the Shrine of the Virgin of Piedigrotta)

Issued 1860, London by Illustrated London News

A visually appealing antique wood engraved print.

It is an original pictorial sheet extracted from a scarce mid-19th century illustrated popular periodical.

Offered for the outstanding modern appeal of the printed image as well as the historical interest of the topic and how it is presented.

In Good+ [or better] condition: displays uniform age toning as typical for this age image. There may be light scattered spotting, possibly small minor edge splits now repaired on the back with small pieces of archival tape. Any defects along the sheet edges and in the blank margins may be seen in the photos.

Please examine the scan closely as the picture forms part of the description, so please take a close look. There is a zoom feature for each picture, so you can see close up.

There is text/ possibly other images on the back because it was extracted from an illustrated periodical from the 19th century. Great fun to look at both sides.

Overall, the main image area remains very attractive-unquestionably an appropriate old print for framing.

[note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws].

Great, unique old printed image entirely worthy of presenting to someone as a present or hanging for display.

Sheet measures c. 10 1/2" H x 15 1/8" W.

Printed area measures c. 9 1/2" H x  14" W
