Beautiful set, much nicer overall than typically encountered. While not a rare set, it is decidedly uncommon in such a pleasing state of preservation
Period 1/2 grained morocco leather bindings, gilt compartment decorations & lettering, marbled end papers, top edges gilt, hundreds of illustrations throughout. A monumental pictorial set in a handsome early 20th century leather binding.
Set is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Set is not new or in "new" condition.
Binding lightly age rubbed, but mostly clean, leather is supple, small minor scuffing, gilt bright, lovely antiquarian appearance. still remains overall attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently toned, scattered spotting (never heavy or offensive), internally well preserved, any flaws of a minor type unworthy of specific mention.
Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this antique set survives. Almost certainly nicer in person than might be indicated in the digital pics.
Books Measure c. 10 1/2" H x 7" W.
