Brian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & Prints

Rare early 19th century juvenile chapbook.
The New England Primer Improved, or, an easy and pleasant guide tot he Art of Reading to which is added the Shorter Catechism.
1824, Newark, NJ. 64 pp. + rear cover, woodcuts.
Lacks front cover, otherwise complete. 64 pp. woodcuts including Burning of Mr. John Rogers.
Scarce in any condition. Well worn, corners rounded, various stains and discolorations, spine stitched long ago with thread.
For any small paper juvenile of this era to survive is a small miracle, it is one if the few areas of collecting where defective should often be considered as entirely acceptable.
