Perfect gift book.
Period 1/2 leather binding, slightly raised & gilt bands, gilt compartment decorations, gilt title lettering on contrasting black leather label, marbled covers, edges & end papers.
Book is physically old and shows some mostly light minor signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition.
Binding gently rubbed and age worn, leather still supple, joints slightly scuffed in spots, covers firmly attached and tight as issued, remains overall attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently toned, internally still clean, well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
