Engraved prints issued c.1819, Phila. by C Gobrecht, J.B. Longacre, Kneas, Young & Co. and Young & Delleker.
Nice lot of ten (10) early 19th century antique engraved prints, including six by C. Gobrecht, two by J.B. Longacre, one by Kneass, Young & Co. and one by Yound & Delleker, all names associated with early American numismatics. Three were chief engravers at the U.S. Mint, Young & D. bank note engravers.
All show signs of age, varied spotting, old dampstaining, two sheets uniformly well age toned as nearly always for Longacre engravings done for Rees, etc. yet all entirely acceptable as inexpensive examples of engraving work by these early numismatic figures.
