Providence Rhode Island hospitals parks homes factories 1895 huge scarce mapBrian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & Prints
City of Providence
(Providence County, Rhode Island)
Issued Philadelphia, 1895 by Everts and Richards.
Very detailed late-19th century oversized map. Lithographed with hand color.
Identifies countless individual homes, as well as parks, hospitals, factories, etc.
Map was issued backed by linen, original small leather index tab affixed at fore edge.
With small pencil markings -- made by a previous owner -- relating in some way to individual homes and properties. Color coded key denotes the building types and materials used (brick, wood, stone, iron, barns, greenhouses, sewers, fire hydrants, etc.)
Minor light toning and small scattered age spotting as typical for maps of this vintage, perhaps small minor paper flaws, but to our eyes and for most people, an entirely acceptable and nice looking example of this scarce large folio antique map.
Sheet measures c. 31 3/4" x 22 1/4".
Printed area measures c. 30" x 20".
