Attractive and desirable early 19th century antique engraved folio sheet map. With beautiful original full hand color.
Fascinating details within Africa, including a supposed island of Meroe in Nubia, a giant Lake of Dembrea with the Kingdom of this name, numerous small scattered Kingdoms, a capital of sheperds whose Queen lives their, Nile source mountains which correspond to the apocryphal Mts. of the Moon, etc.
Surface of map displays some damage due to old adhesions removing some of the engraved surface within Saudi Arabia and along the right side border.
Sill maintains a fine age patina and visual appeal.
