A Manual of Classic Dancing, Exercise, and Practices for the Development of the Classic Dance.
Published 1924, Chicago, by the M. Sergei Marinoff School of Classic Dancing.
200+ pages. Text in English. Illustrated with many nice early b&w photographic plates.

Oblong cloth binding, gilt title lettering embossed cover designs. A long series of illustrated lessons all bound in order, starting with #1 and ending with lesson #17. Many lessons are 15+ pages, the long run of individual lessons is quite thick.

Fascinating and wonderful ballet dance-related item, a unique assortment of items, all of which must only survive (due to their highly limited original distribution) in very small numbers today.

Item is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition. Missing the tiny screws at ends of short metal tubes inside the binding.

Loosely laid in are three 1923-4 magazines issued by Senja Russakoff School of Dancing, as well as a run of 13 consecutive issues (stapled together long ago) of The Stain Slipper, a Chicago dance club illustrated newsletter of this same era.

Binding age worn, yet still remains overall attractive as an object.

Text block paper is clean, internally well preserved, little staining or soiling, any flaws of a minor type unworthy of specific mention.

Still attractive on the shelf. Item displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this antique item survives.
