Interesting late 19th century antique folio color lithographed map, showing the progress of surveying the United States. Depicts the west as it was being carefully charted geologically and by triangulation for the first time.
In Good+ to near VG, clean condition. Some faint light browning along fold-lines which appears darker and stronger in the digital photos than it does on the map itself (a shadow effect makes it appear darker in the pictures).
Nice example of this uncommon huge map.
Sheet measures c. 30" W x 19 1/4" H.
Printed area measures c. 28" W x 17 1/4" H.
Folio. Original fold lines as issued.
