606 pages. Text in English. Wood engraved frontispiece & portrait, many small wood engravings of great primitive charm seen throughout (two to a plate).

Attractive antiquarian full leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands, gilt title lettering & compartment decorations. 

Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. 

Binding age worn but still appealing, crease down spine center with slight crack, leather and joints rubbed but still supple, remains overall very attractive as an object.

Text block paper is heavily spotted and age toned as typical, some page edges protruding slightly from text block, some pages detached with edge damage in blank margins. A book which shows signs of having been heaivly read and well handled.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
