Oversized and quite uncommon 19th century antique map of these two mid-Atlantic states. Engraved and lithographed with original hand color.
Inset maps include: "Part of West Virginia -- the Panhandle" (top left); "South Western Part of Virignia (top left); Hampton Roads (top right), Hypsometric Sketch of Virginia and West Virginia (top right); Norfolk Harbor (bottom right); and "Environs of Harper's Ferry" (to the right of the title).
Attractive looking example, with minor light surface age wear and toning as typical, light damp staining in the margins, but remaining clean with a fine visual appearance.
Original fold line as issued. Clean 4" split down bottom centerfold closed on reverse with archival tape and easy to overlook or miss.
Sheet measures c. 27 1/2" x 17 1/4".
