Fifty Drawings by Alastair. Introduction by Carl Van Vechten.
Published 1925, New York by Alfred A. Knopf.
50 plates. Text in English. Each plate protected by original red lettered tissue guard.

Publisher's 1/4 cloth small folio binding, paper covered boards, top edge gilt, other edges deckled. Printed on lovely quality paper.

Limited print run of 975 copies made available for sale. A very scarce and beautiful book.

One of the most remarkable series of fantastic illustrations we've ever seen, as good or better line style than Beardsley.

Book is almost 100 old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition.

Binding gently age worn, spine lightly rubbed and slightly worn, paper covered boards with small scuffing and a couple minor color touches, edges slightly scuffed, minor signs of handling but nothing offensive or sever. Really, a lovely and pleasing example, remains very attractive as an object.

Paper is gently toned but clean, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

Please review photos for more detail showing how this gorgeous book survives. The asking price reflects the condition based on our examination and 35+ years full time exposure to antiquarian books and ephemera of all types. Flaws seen and described have been taken into account.

Book Measures c. 13" H x 10 1/2" W.
