Canada Eastern Nova Scotia 1884 rare large Cram map with original hand color
Brian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & PrintsEastern Half of Nova Scotia.
(North America, Canada, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, St. George's Bay).
Issued Chicago, 1884 by George Cram. [p.352- Toronto city plan version].
Genuinely uncommon late 19th century oversized antique map. Lithographed colors, combined with original hand color (the green and pinks are hand applied), a much less common type of earlier Cram map than the profusion of later 100% printed color maps. Indeed, this combination of techniques on any American map of this era is within a distinct and short-lived minority.
Clean, well preserved and very attractive.
Original fold line as issued.
Sheet measures c. 25" x 17"
Engraved area measures c. 22 1/2" x 16 1/2"
