Brian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & Prints(Old Books, 19th Century Books, Leather Books, Americana, Women's Magazines, Fashion, Literature, Music, Illustrated Books).
Peterson's Magazine.
Published monthly, 1867 Philadelphia by Peterson.
6 monthly issues bound in 1 volume. 472 pages. Text in English. Profusely illustrated throughout, including 12 engraved fashion plates with original hand color, steel engravings and various other types of images as typical.
Attractive antiquarian 1/2 leather binding, raised bands, gilt title lettering, cloth cover. Original/early owner's name in gilt on cover: Lettie M. Wentworth.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time.
Binding gently age worn but still appealing, leather age dried and slightly surface crackled but still supple, joints slightly rubbed and scuffed but still supple, remains overall sound and attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently age toned as typical, internally book remains mostly clean, tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but may/ does not look like new.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for more detailed attempt to present this book as it survives.
We often over-describe any flaws that many sellers would not even bother to mention since most people would overlook them as minor and unworthy of comment. Many people tell us the books they receive from us are nicer in person than it appears on the screen. We want you to be clear about what you are buying, so we take many photos and try to describe it frankly.
