Brian DiMambro- AntiquarianCultural Landscape. Trivandrum Plate.
(Southern India- Gulf of Mannar- Lakshadweep Sea- Palk Strait & Bay).
Issued 1979, Calcutta, for the Government's monumental multi-year project "National Atlas of India". (Survey of India).
Excellent oversized late-20th century color printed map. Not to be confused with their much more common small quarto size maps of this era. Excellent level of detail not possible on smaller maps. Includes inset maps of Madurai, Tiruchchirappalli, Trivandrum, Ootacamund, and Aurangabad.
The cartographic details seen here are found nowhere else in this unique level of detail or combination on other maps. These include features such as archaeological sites, places of touristical interest, ruins, forts, palaces, tombs, mosques, Buddhist & Hindu cave temples, Jain temples, rest houses, air plane routes, bridges and unbridged river crossing, mines, power stations (existing & under construction), light houses, airports ranked by capacity, etc.
Paper and image remains clean and well preserved with a fine patina and visual appeal.
Original fold line as issued.
