The Pilgrim's Progress From This World To That Which Is To Come, by John Bunyan.
Published 1867, London by George Routledge and Sons.
408 pages. Text in English. Illustrated throughout with drawings by J.D. Watson, wood engraved by Brothers Dalziel. Stamped binding by Ramace, London.

Attractive antiquarian full grained leather binding, raised & gilt bands, gilt title lettering & compartment decorations, gilt ruled & embossed covers, turn-ins gilt ruled, marbled end papers, a.e.g.

Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time.

Binding gently age worn but still appealing, tiny chip to spine head, leather and joints scuffed in spots with some thin flaking along the joints, a few relatively minor surface and edge scratches and rubbed but still supple, remains overall very attractive as an object. Still a lovely 19th century "signed" binding.

Text block paper is gently age toned as typical, light scattered age spotting, internally book remains mostly clean, tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but may/ does not look like new.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.

Please review photos for more detailed attempt to present this fine book as it survives.

We often over-describe any flaws that many sellers would not even bother to mention since most people would overlook them as minor and unworthy of comment. Many people tell us the books they receive from us are nicer in person than they appears on the screen. We want you to be clear about what you are buying, so we take numerous photos and try to describe it openly and honestly.
