Rare Spanish edition of this "juvenile" classic tragedy regarding human vanities, society, a tropical paradise on an island with Europeans owning slaves, and finally a deadly ship wreck just prior to the two lovers being reunited, leading to a further final tragic ending.
Period 1/4 leather binding, complete leather loss on spine exposing original binders lettered waste-paper (please see photos), marbled covers.
Item is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition. With old owners book plate to front paste down, plus minor old stamp to blank fly leaf.
Binding gently age worn, joints cracked, remains overall attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently toned, light to moderate scattered age spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
