Rare large format late 18th century Dutch map. Engraved with original hand color.
Wonderful details, including Nile source lakes and mountains, endless notes about tribes, kings and kingdoms, speculative and apocryphal terrain features, etc. Arabian peninsula shown in it's entirety although Red Sea coastlines are very poorly rendered (see Al Ankary).
Nice looking example, pleasing age patina, slight wrinkling down center fold area, any minor age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
