Burriville Providence County Rhode Island telegraphs phones 1895 huge scarce map
Brian DiMambro- AntiquarianTown of Burriville
(Providence County, Rhode Island)
Issued Philadelphia, 1895 by Everts and Richards.
Very detailed late-19th century oversized map. Lithographed with hand color.
Map was issued backed by linen, original small leather index tab affixed at fore edge.
An extensive color coded key locates features not often identified on maps, including: public telephone offices, express and telegraph offices, fire hydrants, greenhouses, buildings classified by their material (brick, wood, stone, etc.), electric car lines, private roads, railroads, parks, mill buildings, schools, as well as dozens of individual homes (with owners names).
Minor light toning and small scattered age spotting as typical for maps of this vintage, perhaps small minor paper flaws, but to our eyes and for most people, an entirely acceptable and nice looking example of this scarce large folio antique map.
Sheet measures c. 31 3/4" x 22 1/4".
Printed area measures c. 30" x 20".
