Map of the Northern Parts of the United States of America by Abraham Bradley Jr., Corrected by the Author.

(Old Books, 19th Century Maps, North America, United States, New England, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey).

Issued 1797-1804, United States by Bradley.

Scarce early American produced map showing much of historical interest-including a dotted line showing General Wayne's Treaty 1795, Ohio Company Lands plus other boxed areas of "Reserve" lands,  five proposed new states in the western regions, a "Seven Ranges of Townships" land along the Ohio river, District of Maine, notations of portages, "Cincinnatus" for Cincinnati, etc.

With attractive old and likely original hand color.

In poor but still acceptable condition, map displays various effects of time and old damp staining. Various wrinkling along fold lines and curling along edges, c.2" split down fold-line top left into Lake Michigan, short closed tear near inset tab at lower right, spotting, old damp staining, etc. Map is perfect candidate for basic cleaning restoration but worthy of display as it survives.

Remains a nice looking example with a pleasing age patina, one bottom fold line nicely closed with small piece of (removable) archival tape, the various age flaws as seen and described easy to overlook or forgive in the context of the age, scarcity and historical interest of the map.

Original fold lines as issued.

Sheet Measures c. 9 1/2" H x 15 1/2" W.

Engraved Area Measures c. 8" H x 15" W.
