Uncommon and attractive mid 17th century copper engraved map.
Decorative scroll cartouche greatly enhances visual appeal. Numerous figures surround the title, including allegorical goddess emerging from the sea and cherubs playing around a distance scale at lower right. Cyprus island shows 10 specific place names which includes five tiny symbols. Sailing ships in the Black Sea across the top, Candia and Rhodes island lower left corner.
Nice looking example, pleasing age patina, some age toning and light browning as seen to sheet, minor old staining along bottom edge, still fine in appearance and suitable for display.
