Lovely mid 19th century engraved decorative map with original outline hand color. 

Well preserved, nice looking example with pleasing age patina. Original center fold as issued.

Texas is shown in a strange configuration without a northern stovepipe, above the truncated outline is a huge "Western Territory" (pre-Indian Territory) and a small "New Mexico or Santa Fe". Missouri Territory is massive and straddles a long oddly shaped narrow Nebraska Territory. Vignettes include George Washington, Ben Franklin, the Washington Monument, a Buffalo Hunt, Indians trading with settlers, etc.
