(Old Maps, North America, United States, Washington, D.C. City Plan).

Issued 1901, Washington, D.C. by the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey Office. Photo-lithography

Scarce large early 20th century color lithographed city plan which reproduces the 1791 manuscript plan created by Charles L'Enfant for the new nation's Capital.

This 1791 L'enfant urban design manuscript was issued for sale by the U.S. Government in 1887 for 50 cents. This scarce 1901 version is reprinting that 1887 example, which today is even scarcer than this version, which only appeared within a rare monumental early 20th century work devoted to the Capital city and it's history.

Original fold lines as issued.
