Issued 1868, New York by Brown for Bishop.
Scarce and wonderful mid 19th century lithographed urban plan, with original hand color. Decorative floral border & vignette title greatly enhances the visual appeal.
Original fold lines as issued.
Map displays well, but has a couple small areas of loss below the title which have been backed with matching paper (near date and within Greenwood Cemetery). One other fold line splitting (with Bushwick Ward) with archival tape repairs on reverse. Several extraneous creases down middle (could be flattened if desired), some light browning along right vertical fold line.
Despite the age flaws as described and seen, map displays very well and is worthy of display. Overall mostly quite clean in appearance, very little soiling, minimal light scattered foxing, fresh and pleasing, a well printed surface overall.
Sheet Measures c. 21 1/4" H x 24 1/4" W.
Printed Area Measures c. 19 1/4" H x 23 1/4" W.
