446 pages. Text in English. Engraved frontis protected by original tissue guard, numerous full page illustrations throughout. The decorative gilt binding appears to be signed on spine and cover with the initials "WHR".

Appears to be stories intended to instruct children in life morals and proper conduct.

Publisher's cloth binding, gilt title lettering, gilt floral spine & cover decorations, embossed cover designs.

Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition.

Binding gently age worn, spine ends rubbed, cover tips bumped, mostly light signs of handling and time but nothing offensive or severe, book remains overall attractive as an object.

Paper is gently toned, light minor edge damp staining to rear portion of text block, internally still clean, tight, sound internally.

Still attractive on the shelf. The book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in overall nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws which may be present seem easy to overlook or forgive.
