Remarkable oversized elephant folio sheet map, among the largest commercially produced regional county survey maps of the late 19th century. Lithographed with original outline hand color.
Stunning level of detail, endless named home and property owners with building outlines. A reference key identifies a wide range of features which often includes the material buildings and structures were constructed with (brick, wood, stone, iron), barns, street railway lines, ice houses, horse stables, offices for telegraph, telephone, etc.
Names numerous mills then functioning, including Potomska Mills, Acushnet Mills, hataway Manufacturing, Howland, Roth Spinning Corp. and others, plus a large "proposed Park" area.
Light uniform paper age toning otherwise clean, nice looking example. Text relating to the city or township shown on reverse as always for this rare map.
